| Roland was born in Hannover (Germany) on July 16th, 1969. He spent his youth in Martfeld, a village approximately 36 km (20 miles) south of Bremen, a major city in northern Germany. After
graduating and military service he studied law at the universities of
Göttingen, Marburg and then Göttingen again.After graduating and

Marburg and then Göttingen again. He spent his time as articled clerk in Wiesbaden/Hessia. 2000 he started working for the insurance company R+V Allgemeine Versicherung AG.
Since 2007 he works for the department of laws and principles in Wiesbaden.
2008 Roland starts teaching insurance law at the university of applied sciences in Wiesbaden.
